Police Urged To Open Case Of Civil Servant Who Molested Three Biological Children In East Luwu

Makassar - Police Headquarters was asked to reopen cases of alleged sexual violence against three minors which were stopped by the East Luwu Police and the South Sulawesi Police in 2019 and 2020.

"We ask the Police to take over and continue the process of this case," said the advisory team to the victims, Rezky Pratiwi when giving a press statement at the LBH Makassar office, reported by Antara, Thursday, October 8 night.

This case is related to the police report from the hospital as SA's ex-wife (43) known to be a civil servant at the East Luwu Regional Government Inspectorate, as being reported for alleged sexual violence and rape of her three children, each with the initials AL (8), MR (6) and AL (4 ) which was discontinued on December 10, 2019.

This case also resurfaced after it was widely discussed by the public, after being published on the http://projetmultatuli.org site, it went viral and became a trending topic in a number of social media regarding the termination of the case.

Rezky emphasized that what happened to the children was a criminal act. One of the parties who have the authority to process the case and bring the perpetrator to justice is the police.

"The police have the authority. Therefore, we urge the Police once again to follow up on our findings that have been reported at the South Sulawesi Regional Police so that they can be reopened and taken over for follow-up, so that the children can get justice," he said.

According to him, from the facts collected by the LBH team as a result of an assessment conducted in Makassar, it is very important to reopen it. This is because the termination of the case through the Termination of Investigation Order (SP3) was considered premature.

Because, only two months after being reported to the East Luwu Police in 2019, an administration was immediately made to stop the investigation. In addition, no other witnesses were examined, apart from the victims, so no clues were found. Even the victims were not accompanied by their mothers when they were examined as well as lawyers or other social institutions.

Then, when the victims were taken to Makassar, because they did not receive services, they should have been in East Luwu. The results of the assessment of the psychologist, even issued the opposite fact. The children admitted that they had been sexually abused by their fathers, and there were even other perpetrators who did the same thing to the three children.

"As a result, the information from all the uniforms was said by the children of the victims. Even the smallest ones were able to demonstrate how it was done to them," he said.

While the process that the victims went through at the psychiatrist in East Luwu, was too short, only 15 minutes of examination, even the mothers of the victims were declared Wahab or had mental disorders. In addition, during a follow-up case at the South Sulawesi Regional Police office in March 2020, his party as a legal advisor had submitted documents that supported the arguments during the trial, but they were stopped or issued SP3 on the grounds that there was insufficient evidence.

"We have reported this case to Komnas HAM, Komnas Perempuan and the Ministry of PPA. There is even a recommendation from Komnas Perempuan to continue this case again. However, there has been no official statement through letters from Polri investigators, but only statements in the media have been heard," he said. .

Meanwhile, the Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) of the National Police's Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, in a press conference at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Thursday, said that the case had indeed been discontinued but could be reopened if new evidence was found.

"When it comes to stopping the investigation, it's not all final. If new evidence is found in the ongoing process, it's possible to reopen the investigation," said Rusdi.
