Shopping At Padang Malls And Supermarkets Must Bring Proof Of Vaccination Or Antigen Test Results, Transmart Affected

PADANG - Head of the Padang City Trade Office (Disdag), Andree Algamar said visitors who shop at malls or supermarkets in Padang City, West Sumatra, must show proof of vaccination.

"Visitors are required to show proof of vaccination, if there is none, according to the West Sumatra Governor's SE, it can be replaced with the results of a PCR test or an antigen swab test," said Andree, quoted by Antara, Thursday, October 7.

The negative result of the antigen swab test can be used within a maximum of 1×24 hours, while the negative result of the PCR test is a maximum of 2×24 hours.

Andree said the socialization related to the obligation to show proof of vaccines in malls and supermarkets has been carried out since a month ago and has been optimized this week.

"We have also tightened our supervision and informed all mall and supermarket supervisors to implement the Governor's Decree number: 400/98/Dag/IX-2021," he said.

According to Andree, there are four malls and more than a hundred supermarkets in the city of Padang that are required to implement this policy and have been monitored for the past two days.

He hopes that malls and supermarkets can understand the policy in order to support the acceleration of the vaccination process and the economy will also recover.

Meanwhile, when monitoring was carried out at one of the large malls in Padang, namely Transmart, it was seen that visitors who came were required to show proof of vaccination, while those who did not have them could not enter.

General Manager of Transmart Padang, Yudi Siswanto, said that starting Thursday, October 7, visitors who come are required to show proof of vaccination or scan the QR Code via the PeduliLindung application that is already on display.

Yudi admits that since the implementation of the policy, the impact has been felt on the decline in the number of visitors who come to Transmart.

He hopes that the supervision of the implementation of the policy by the government will not only be monitored at large retailers but other local retailers must also be monitored so that it is fair.
