PKS Is The Only Faction That Refuses To Ratify The HPP Bill Into Law

JAKARTA - The Plenary Meeting of the Indonesian House of Representatives approved the Draft Law (RUU) for Harmonization of Tax Regulations (HPP) or which previously used the title of the Bill on General Provisions on Taxation (KUP) to become a law today, Thursday, October 7. Only PKS, the only faction that objected to this.

In today's meeting, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhaimin Iskandar, chaired the trial at the Nusantara II Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta.

"I asked all existing factions whether the Bill on the Harmonization of Tax Regulations could be approved to be ratified into law," said Muhaimin asking for the approval of the plenary meeting.

"Agreed," replied the councilor.

Another agenda at the Plenary Meeting was to listen to the opinions of the factions on the proposed Bill on the Commission II of the DPR RI. Namely the Bill on the Province of South Sulawesi, the Bill on the Province of Central Sulawesi, the Bill on the Province of Sulawesi and Southeast Sulawesi.

Next is the Bill on North Sulawesi Province, the Bill on the Province of East Kalimantan, the Bill on the Province of South Kalimantan and the Bill on the Province of West Kalimantan, which is followed by a decision to become a bill proposed by the Indonesian House of Representatives.

Today's submission of factions is reported in writing due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Is the bill on the initiative proposed by the DPR's Commission II approved as an initiative of the DPR," asked Cak Imin, followed by a word of agreement from the members.

The plenary session also approved an extension of time for the discussion of the Draft Law on Disaster Management; Bill on Amendments to Law 5/2014 on State Civil Apparatus, followed by decision making.

Furthermore, members of the House of Representatives listened to the speech of the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives in the context of Closing the First Session Period for the 2021-2022 Session Year. The people's representatives will return to their constituents in a recess period until November 7th.
