Syamsurizal stated that Commission II will continue discussions regarding the determination of the 2024 election date after the DPR recess during the 2021/2022 trial period which will last until early November 2021. "The election decision is still being postponed because Commission II wants a unanimous agreement, while the Ministry of Home Affairs through the Korpolkam Minister proposes that the presidential and legislative elections be held on May 15, 2024. According to Syamsurizal, the date of the 2024 General Election needs to be decided carefully so that the Pilkada does not delay its implementation to 2025, considering that this is not in accordance with the mandate of Law Number 10 of 2016 concerning Regional Elections which explains that simultaneous regional elections will be held in November 2021.
