JAKARTA - Riki and Yudi, silver people living on Jalan Haji Ung, Kemayoran, could only bow their heads in resignation when they were taken away by the joint officers of the Satpol PP and the Social Service Office of Sawah Besar District.

The two of them just went out to earn a fortune at the red light intersection of Gunung Sahari Raya, Central Jakarta.

"Living in Jiung, Kemayoran, sir. One child, singing to support children," said Riki when the officers carried him into the car of the Jakarta Social Service.

Riki admitted that he had to spend Rp. 20 thousand to buy silver oil paint.

"The income of a silver man a day can be 80 thousand. It's been a week to be a silver man," he said.

The head of the Sawah Besar District Civil Service Police Unit, Darwis Silitonga, said this control was a form of providing a sense of security and comfort to residents. The reason is that the existence of the PMKS has been complained by many residents.

"Today we have secured 10 PMKS from a number of points. The PMKS who were caught were immediately taken to an orphanage in West Jakarta by the Central Jakarta Social Affairs Sub-Department," Darwis told VOI at the location, Wednesday, October 6, evening.

It is hoped that the PMKS who are netted will be given training after being brought to the orphanage by the DKI Jakarta Social Service. With this training, it is hoped that these PMKS will not return to the road.

"Later they will be given training. If they have received training, they will develop what they have been trained on," he said.

Darwis explained that the PMKS selection did not go against the officers. They were secured at a number of points, such as at the Kartini Pump House, Jalan Gunung Sahari Utara and Jembatan Merah. There are various types of PMKS that are secured.

"There are silver people, buskers, and beggars who bring small children," he said.
