Reviewing Luwu Disaster, Social Minister Risma Orders To Prepare Staple Food Stock Storage

SULSEL - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini instructed his staff to prepare a place to store food stocks or basic needs for survivors of landslides and flash floods in Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi.

The Minister of Social Affairs stated this while reviewing the location of landslides and flash floods in Ilanbatu Village, West Walenrang District, Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi, Wednesday, October 6.

He said this was in anticipation of responding to the location of the incident which is mountainous and difficult to access.

This is considered important to ensure that the logistics needs of the community can still be prepared, in the event of a disaster in the future.

"Well, if there is a landslide. Then access is closed, which I worry about the food needs of the residents at some points cannot be met," said Social Minister Risma as quoted by Antara.

By listening to input and direct observations, the Minister of Social Affairs identified 8 vulnerable locations. It is at these 8 points that the Ministry of Social Affairs will establish a place to provide basic food or "bufferstock".

At each of these places, basic needs will be prepared in the form of fast food, blankets, rolled tents, family kits, mattresses, folding mattresses, rice, clean water and fuel.

With the "bufferstock" that is easily accessible, it is hoped that the food needs of the community will not be disturbed.

He explained, to ensure the smooth provision of "bufferstock" the Ministry of Social Affairs would cooperate with the Luwu Regent, the Police and the TNI.

Together and in coordination, the relevant agencies will determine several points with houses as places for providing bufferstock.
