Shopee Expeditionary Warehouse Burns, Officer: The Fire Starts From A Plastic Warehouse

JAKARTA - An expedition warehouse on Jalan Kapuk Kayu Besar, Kamal Muara Village, Penjaringan Subdistrict, North Jakarta was burned down. A total of 18 fire engines were deployed to extinguish the fire.

According to Anton, one of the workers at the warehouse, the fire started in a warehouse containing electrical panels.

"The fire is at the end near the electrical panel. Because this is a warehouse area, right," Anton told reporters at the scene, Wednesday, October 6.

Anton said a fire broke out in a warehouse. The fire did not spread to the surrounding warehouses.

"At the time of the fire, there was no activity in the warehouse area. Because the workers had not yet arrived," he said.

During the fire, the workers were seen evacuating the goods to be sent. It is not yet known how much damage and the cause of the fire incident.

Public Relations of the DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) Mulat Wijayanto said the fire started in a plastic warehouse near the expedition warehouse.

"According to available information from laboratory workers and warehouse employees at the scene of the fire, the starting point was in the plastic warehouse and it spread to the Shopee Express warehouse, which was close to the burning warehouse," said Mulat when confirmed.

"Information from Shoppee Express obtained from employees at the location said the fire also spread to them," he said.
