Ministry Of Social Affairs Proposes Ministries And Institutions To Be Involved In The Bill On Disaster Management

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Social Affairs proposes to include elements of Ministries and Institutions to be involved in disaster management in the Draft Law on Disaster Management (RUU PB).

"We propose a complete institution, because we cannot do it alone," said Social Minister Tri Rismaharini in a hearing with Commission VIII DPR and DPD Committee II, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, October 5.

Risma gave a big picture, such as a liquefaction disaster and making the boundaries of territory and land unclear, then her party proposed the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning to be involved in disaster management.

Then the handling of the repatriation of problematic Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) in Malaysia with a fairly large number, the Ministry of Social Affairs will involve the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

Risma said, as well as in a fire disaster, when residents lose their diplomas, land certificates, and even ID cards, other ministries will be involved to replace the burned documents.

In addition to the ministry, several institutions such as the TNI, Polri, BIN, BNPT, BNPB, Basarnas, KNKT, elements of community organizations such as ORARI are also involved.

"Ministry of Agrarian and Spatial Planning, if there is a conflict over land and spatial planning. If involved, we will be able to handle it after the disaster. We propose a complete ministry.
