BNN Aceh Destroys Drugs Worth More Than Rp31 Billion, Perpetrators Are Threatened With The Death Penalty

ACEH - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Aceh Province destroyed marijuana and methamphetamine from law enforcement operations with a value of more than Rp. 31 billion.

The destruction was carried out at the Aceh Provincial BNN Office in Banda Aceh, Tuesday, October 5. Shabu-shabu is destroyed by mixing with cement while the marijuana is burned.

The head of the Aceh Province BNN, Brigadier General Heru Pranoto, said that 31.4 kilograms of methamphetamine were destroyed. Meanwhile, marijuana weighs 153.7 kilograms.

"If the price per gram is Rp. 1 million, then the destroyed methamphetamine is worth more than Rp. 31 billion. This does not include marijuana," said Heru Pranoto as quoted by Antara.

The one-star general said the destroyed drugs and marijuana were evidence with the suspect with the initials M, a resident of Muara Batu, North Aceh Regency.

M was arrested in Neuheun Village, Mesjid Raya District, Aceh Besar District, some time ago. Along with M, 30 packs of methamphetamine were also secured with a weight of 31.4 kilograms.

"M's mode is to send from the sea to a pickup truck. M is suspected of being a Malaysian-Aceh drug ring. And this can be seen from the packaging in Chinese characters," said Heru Pranoto.

Meanwhile, marijuana with the suspect initials A and JAL, residents of Aceh Besar. Both were arrested at the office of a freight forwarder or cargo company in Batoh, Banda Aceh City.

Together with the two, 33 bales of marijuana weighing 36.2 kilograms and 108 bales weighing 117.5 kilograms of dried marijuana were also seized, he said.

"In addition, the drugs that were destroyed were also evidence of two other suspects, namely the initials DF in the form of methamphetamine weighing n61 grams. The perpetrator is suspected to be the Langsa Narcotics Prison network," said Heru Pranoto.

The head of the Aceh Province BNN said the suspects were charged with violating Article 111 Paragraph (2), Article 112 Paragraph (2), Article 114 Paragraph (2), and Article 115 Paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 Year 2009 regarding narcotics.

"The threat is a minimum of five years in prison and a maximum sentence of life imprisonment or the death penalty. We also continue to pursue the narcotics network of the perpetrators," he said.
