Squeeze ASN And BUMN Employees Using Budget Mode, 3 'Bodrek' Journalists Enter Bogor Police's Hunting Radar

BOGOR - The Bogor Police are still hunting for three bodrek journalists aka fake journalists with the initials FS, FBS and HS. This gang extorted a number of ASN to BUMNN employees.

Bogor Police Chief AKBP Harun said the three perpetrators were already on the wanted list (DPO). Two of their colleagues, JES (45) and JN (46) have been arrested.

"We have arrested two suspects. Meanwhile, the other three suspects are still on the DPO," said Harun when contacted, Antara, Sunday, October 3.

The five suspects have acted at least 37 times in six different areas with the results of extorting their victims reaching Rp500 million. Some of the areas include Bogor City, Depok, Bekasi, Karawang, East Jakarta and Bogor Regency.

"As for the Bogor Regency area, there are eight sub-districts, namely Cileungsi, Gunungputri, Cibinong, Citereup, Sukaraja, Cisarua, Megamendung and Ciawi," Harun explained.

In carrying out their actions, the suspects used the modus operandi by monitoring several of their victims to find fault with the victims. After that, the suspect threatened and blackmailed him.

"If they don't give money, the perpetrator threatens to spread it in the media. The target victims are ASN, then there are several professions, and BUMN, those are the targets of the suspect," he said.

In addition to this mode, the suspects also use the mode of going directly to the victim. Suspects usually ask about the budget and then frighten them with the intention of extorting money.

"Then there were those who were visited, asked about funds and were afraid to be blackmailed," he said.

Harun asked the ASN, the head of the service, the sub-district to the lurah to dare to report if there were fake journalists who tried to extort them. He emphasized that he would process disturbing bodrek journalists.

"For ASN, lurah, sub-district head, head of service if threatened by unscrupulous journalists immediately report the incident to the nearest police station, we will process it," he said.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Bogor, Ade Yasin, appreciated the police institution in Bogor Regency, West Java, for successfully uncovering the case of "bodrek" journalists which were considered disturbing.

"We appreciate the Police, because they succeeded in dismantling this extortion case by people claiming to be journalists," he said while attending a press conference on the "bodrek" journalist case at the Cileungsi Police Headquarters.

The reason is that some time ago he was also made uncomfortable with the actions of bodrek journalists who interfered with the performance of village heads (kades) in several areas.

"Now we have a program of one billion one village (samisade). So, there must be a lot of people who disturb the village head. They like to look for problems, they end up blackmailing and threatening them," he said in Klapanunggal, Bogor, on June 16. 2021.

According to him, village heads to officials in the Regional Work Units (SKPD) must increase literacy about the media and not have to be afraid of people claiming to be journalists.
