The BOR Of The COVID Referral Hospital In Riau Is Only 5 Percent, The Majority Are Occupied By Elderly People Over 50 Years Old

RIAU - Head of the Riau Provincial Health Office, Mimi Yuliani Nazir, said the bed occupancy rate (BOR) for isolation rooms at COVID-19 referral hospitals in Riau Province remained at around 5 percent.

"BOR at referral hospitals in Riau has dropped, currently around 5 percent. The BOR is for non-ICU isolation rooms," said Mimi Yuliani Nazir in Pekanbaru, Antara, Sunday, October 3.

He said that currently the occupancy of the COVID-19 isolation room in hospitals in Riau was relatively stable.

Meanwhile, the occupancy of the ICU room for COVID-19 patients in Riau is currently around 12 percent, because many COVID-19 patients who are brought to the hospital are elderly.

"Therefore, we ask people suffering from COVID-19 who are self-isolating at home if they experience shortness of breath to immediately go to the hospital to get medical help, especially those over 50 years old," he said.

Mimi invites the public to continue to implement health protocols, especially when doing activities outside the home due to the addition of positive COVID-19 patients in Riau.

"Let's together take care of ourselves and those around us by continuing to apply health protocols. Wash hands with running water, maintain safe physical distance, use masks and avoid crowds," he said.
