PADANG – After going through the investigation process, the Koto Tangah Sector Police, Padang, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) finally uncovered a case of suspected hoarding of subsidized diesel fuel. Two perpetrators, namely DS (40) and AD (45) were arrested. The other one, IPT (30), is on the run, aka a fugitive.
"The disclosure of this case began with an investigation where it was indicated that the perpetrators were hoarding subsidized diesel fuel," said Head of the Koto Tangah Police, AKP Afrino, in Padang, Saturday.
He said after confirming the activities of the perpetrators, his party immediately made an arrest on Thursday (30/9) night, in Air Pacah Village, Koto Tangah District.
One of the perpetrators with the initials IPT (30) who is a resident of Air Pacah Village, Padang City is a fugitive.
Afrino said that from the disclosure of the alleged hoarding case, his party secured about 1 tonne of diesel fuel.
"We have secured the diesel oil along with the two perpetrators in order to continue the legal process regarding the oil and gas crime," he said.
The perpetrator admitted that this activity had been going on for about two months, and currently the police are still investigating how much profit was made by selling the subsidized diesel oil illegally.
He said the modus operandi used by the perpetrators was to fill up diesel fuel at a petrol station (SPBU) and then collect it in large quantities.
It is suspected that the subsidized diesel which should be enjoyed by the general public will be sold again by the perpetrators to other parties, so that it does not comply with the provisions and they do not have a permit.
"We are still investigating this case to find out the details and reveal it completely," he said.
