JAKARTA - Intelligence and Security Observer Stanislaus Riyanta is of the opinion that Gatot Nurmantyo's allegations about the TNI were infiltrated by the PKI. The allegations Stanislaus called baseless.

"I see that it is an accusation for which there is no proof. To my knowledge, the TNI is actually the most solid organization that is very difficult to be infiltrated by ideas like communists," he said when contacted by VOI, Friday, October 1.

Stanislaus assessed that the statement from the former TNI Commander Gatot Nurmantyo had actually been explained. The statue was pulled by the initiator because he felt that according to his religious teachings making a statue was a big sin. Therefore, the accusation of the TNI being infiltrated by the PKI is baseless.

"I think this is a habit towards the end of September and towards the beginning of October, this issue always keeps rising," he said.

Stanislaus said this incident kept repeating itself. He considered that Gatot Nurmantyo was not the only one to make accusations without evidence.

According to him, several years ago it was also viral when Gatot Nurmantyo spoke about history books and the G30S/PKI film which was immediately denied by Usman Hamid.

"It's been denied and he can't answer anymore. Now it's been directly denied by the Kostrad Commander, directly denied by the one who pulled the statue. I think the communist issue is only played for the needs of the existence of certain groups," he said.

Stanislaus emphasized that the Pancasila ideology was final and could not be contested again. There is no instrument that can interfere with Pancasila in Indonesia.

He referred to TAP MPRS Number 25 of 1966 concerning the disbandment of the Indonesian Communist Party, the prohibition of any activities, including the spread of Communism, Marxism and Leninism.

"So I think Pancasila is final, communism is finished," he said.

Stanislaus explained, this issue becomes different when it is discussed related to scientific studies or research.

"So it is used to serve as a warning to the country that there is a communist ideology in this area with these people, but with a complete study," he explained.

However, he continued, the potential threat to Pancasila still exists. It doesn't have to be communism, but it can be like the ideology brought by transnational groups which is quite rampant in recent years.

"But communism itself, I see, is a dark history in Indonesia, but there is very little chance of a rise again (communists) in our country," said Stanislaus.
