JAKARTA - Head of Bekasi Metro Police, Kombes Police, Aloysius Suprijadi, said his party managed to apprehend four men who were accused of extorting police. The perpetrators were found to have carried out their actions against the owner of a cosmetic shop in the Jatiasih area, Bekasi City.

"Yes, that's right, the victim named Wahyudi (22), the owner of a cosmetic shop in Jatisari Village, Jatiasih District," said Aloysius confirmed, Friday, October 1.

Aloysius said that the incident occurred when the perpetrators identified as Rio, Topic, Uhe and Iwan came to Wahyudi's cosmetic shop. At that time, Wahyudi who received them, initially the victim thought they were buyers.

Right in front of the shop, one of the perpetrators claimed to be a police officer and received a report that the cosmetic shop was selling illegal drugs. So the perpetrator asked to conduct a search.

"So the modus operandi of the perpetrators is four people, coming claiming to be police, intimidating the victim accused of selling illegal drugs," he said.

The victim, who felt that he did not sell the Eksimer drug, referred to by the perpetrator, finally allowed him to conduct a search. It's just that one of the perpetrators claimed to have found the Eksimer drug, then questioned the owner of the finding.

Although the victim evaded, the perpetrators immediately intimidated the victim. Meanwhile, several other perpetrators carried Rp. 650 thousand in cash in a drawer. The perpetrators argued to be used as evidence. Then the perpetrator asked the victim to go to the police station.

In the car, the victim was invited to walk around. The victim was also asked to prepare money if he wanted to be released before going to the police station.

The amount of money demanded was Rp. 50 million. The victim also had time to contact his family.

"The victim has contacted his family, then the victim's family is unable to fulfill the request for a ransom of Rp. 50 million," he said.

When they arrived at the entrance to the Clincing Toll Road, North Jakarta, there were officers conducting a raid. When the officer approached to check the vehicle documents. The victim dared to scream for help.

So that it attracted attention, the officer who was carrying out the raid also asked the perpetrators to get out of the car. After that, the victim admitted that if he wanted money from the perpetrators who claimed to be police officers.

"From there, the victim was rescued and the perpetrators were immediately arrested," he said.

As a result of his actions, the perpetrators were charged with Article 365 of the Criminal Code. The perpetrators are still languishing in the detention cell of the Bekasi City Metro Police.
