Ustaz Attack In Bekasi Arrested, Police Still Investigating Suspect's Motive

JAKARTA - The Head of Public Information (Penum) of the Public Relations of the National Police Headquarters, Kombes pol Ahmad Ramadhan in an online discussion revealed that the perpetrators of the beheading of Ustaz Jamiludin (39) that occurred in Babakan Village, Jalan Raya Mustikasari, Mustika Jaya, Bekasi City, last Tuesday, September 29 have been arrested.

Even though they have been arrested, the police are still unable to conclude the motive for the action. The police still consider the incident experienced by Ustaz Jamiludin as a robbery.

"We conveyed that this morning the perpetrator had been arrested. We still don't know (the motive) of the perpetrator," said Ahmad.

According to him, the police are still investigating the perpetrators of the robbery case who also injured the ustaz and confiscated the victim's motorbike.

"We also want to determine what the motive for the robbery and stabbing case was. Initial information was that the motive of the perpetrator was to commit robbery, he wanted to seize Ustaz Jamiludin's motorbike," Ahmad explained.

Regarding whether the perpetrator recognized the ustaz, Kombespol Ahmad Ramadhan, stated that the perpetrator did not recognize him.

"He doesn't know him at all, he just wants to rob," said Kombespol Ahmad Ramadhan.

Previously, the robbery began when the victim, Ustadz Jamiludin, was riding a motorbike to return from a recitation program he attended in the Bantargebang area. The victim returned home via Jalan Raya Mustikasari, Babakan village, Mustikajaya, Bekasi City at around 02.30 in the morning.

In a quiet situation, suddenly, the victim was grabbed and stopped by several perpetrators, according to the victim there were 6 to 7 people who also used motorbikes.

The victim was hit by a sharp knife type weapon on the left waist, it made the victim fall down and helpless.

The victim was rushed to a nearby clinic because there were wounds in several parts of his body, including the most severe part of his left waist which was covered in blood, even his leather jacket was pierced by a sharp weapon.
