East Jakarta And The Thousand Islands Enter PPKM Level 1, But Deputy Governor Riza Affirms All DKI Is Still PPKM Level 3

JAKARTA - East Jakarta and the Thousand Islands are reported to have entered the status of Level 1 Enforcement of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM). However, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said that currently all areas in Jakarta are still implementing PPKM Level 3.

"As of today, Jakarta is still at PPKM Level 3. So, (PPKM in East Jakarta and the Thousand Islands Level 1) is not PPKM level," said Riza at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, September 29.

Riza explained that the Ministry of Health had determined that the pandemic conditions in these two areas had been controlled by considering a number of indicators. So, you can enter PPKM Level 1.

"Level 1 means that transmission does not occur, but there are limitations in the application of transmission prevention efforts. Or, there are cases but they can still be controlled through effective actions around cases or clusters of cases," said Riza.

However, according to the central government's decision, Jakarta is still implementing PPKM Level 3 from September 21 to October 4, 2021.

This means that there is community-scale COVID-19 transmission with limited response capacity and there is a risk of inadequate health services.

"So if (East Jakarta and the Thousand Islands) enter level 1, it is certainly good according to the Ministry of Health with data collection from the Ministry of Health version. So, the difference between the level referred to at the Ministry of Health is different from the level in PPKM," Riza explained.

Previously, based on data from the Ministry of Health, the areas that were able to implement the Level 1 PPKM assessment were East Jakarta and the Thousand Islands.

Meanwhile, South Jakarta, North Jakarta, and West Jakarta can apply PPKM Level 2. Meanwhile, Central Jakarta is still implementing PPKM Level 3.
