JAKARTA - Banners reading the refusal to watch the G30S/PKI film stirred a number of areas in Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta. The banners began to spread since Tuesday, September 28, last night.

Based on the information gathered, the banners were written in the name of residents at a number of points in Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta.

The contents of the banners were 'Residents of Karanganyar Regency Reject G30S/PKI Film Nobar, 'Reject G30S/PKI Film Nobar for Mangga Dua Selt Residents, 'Reject G30S/PKI Film Nobar for PS.BARU'.

Kasatpol PP Sawah Besar Sub-district, Darwis Silitonga, said that his party found this when carrying out a routine mask operation on Tuesday night.

"Yesterday it was not there, so last night (Tuesday) the prokes patrol reported (there was a banner rejecting the G30S/PKI film)," said Darwis when contacted by reporters, Wednesday, September 29.

Darwis explained that the banners were installed at 6 points in the Sawah Besar area, namely in Pasar Baru, around Wisma Antara, Mangga Dua, Jayakarta Station, Gapok Market and Jalan Samanhudi.

He also confirmed that the banner violated public order and has now been removed with elements of the 3 pillars of Sawah Besar District.

"The removal has nothing to do with the banner (content), yes, our business is to remove the banner because it disturbs order, there are 6 points. It was removed earlier between 8-9 am," he said.

He suspected that none of the local residents were aware of the installation of banners that read the rejection of the screening of the film.

"It seems that people don't understand, they don't pay attention because people rarely pay attention to banners like that," he said.

Darwis said that his party would anticipate that the incident would not be repeated by conducting patrols in the area.

"We anticipate that we will have nightly meetings. If there is more (the banner of refusing to watch the G30S/PKI film) we will take it away, we will be more concerned about public order," he said.
