JAKARTA - The Political Sniper Youtube channel recently caused an uproar among netizens by uploading a video that dragged the name of the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian.

Minister Tito in the narration in the video thumbnail is said to have visited the new FPI headquarters and legitimized this organization.

The message from Minister Tito to FPI is to become an organization that can uphold the commandments of Ma'ruf Nahi Mungkar.

“UPDATED NEWS ~ TITO AUTHORATE NEW FPI | COMMAND FP1 TO ENFORC AMAR MA'RUF NAHI MUNGKAR | Viral” on September 10, 2021. The narration on the thumbnails reads “~TITO TO FPI HQ~ AUTHORITY THE NEW FPI TITO ORDERS FPI SERVING JIHAD AGAINST ZOLIMAN", according to the narration written by Political Sniper quoted from turnbackhoax, Wednesday, September 29.

Is the content of the video true?

Based on the search results, in the video, there is no statement from the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian regarding the new FPI. The content of the video is the result of editing several videos and reading news articles.

Several videos were taken, reported by turnbackhoax, namely, a video entitled "Viral FPI Holds Declaration in West Bandung" which aired on the Tribunjabar channel. Then the video entitled "The Mass Demands the East Kalimantan Provincial Government Not to Disband FPI" aired on the CNN Indonesia channel on January 30, 2017.

The last video is titled "DECLARATION OF THE ISLAMIC PERSONALITY FRONT (FPI) KUNINGAN" which aired on the Frame Warta channel on January 4, 2021.

Meanwhile, the news article that was read in the video was entitled "Drag the Name of the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Chair of PA 212: This New FPI Must Be Supported" which aired on fajar.co.id on September 9, 2021.

"The article also did not find a statement by Tito Karnavian. The article only contained a statement from the Chairperson of the 212 Alumni Presidium (PA 212) Aminudin on the formation of the Islamic Brotherhood Front which replaced the Islamic Defenders Front or FPI".
