JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission A DPRD DKI for Government Affairs Mujiyono asked the managers of entertainment establishments in Jakarta to be patient because they have not been allowed to open their business.

The plan was for this entertainment venue to open on July 29, but it was canceled due to the unstable condition of COVID-19 in Jakarta.

The business premises that have been canceled include cinemas, massage parlors, saunas, karaoke, discotheques, bowling alleys and bars.

"Entrepreneurs such as cinemas and entertainment venues must be patient until the PSBB transitional extension ends in the next 14 days. The problem is, the number of COVID-19 in Jakarta continues to rise, not as expected," said Mujiyono when contacted, Friday, July 17.

Mujiyono asked entertainment venue entrepreneurs to understand the current condition because the DKI Provincial Government is focusing on facing the pandemic. After that, the provincial government will handle the economic and socio-cultural recovery.

"The reason for determining a policy that defeats economic interests, right, health. If the entertainment venue is opened again and the numbers soar, do not let us even return to the way we started with strict restrictions," said Mujiyono.

As previously reported, the Government has decided to postpone the opening of theaters which were previously scheduled for July 29. Head of the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf), Cucu Ahmad Kurnia, postponed the opening of indoor entertainment venues, including cinemas, bowling alley and billiards.

"Because the condition of COVID-19 in Jakarta is not yet stable, (cases) have risen again, so we are waiting for the time to get really conducive," said Cucu.
