JAKARTA - Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (MenPAN-RB) Tjahjo Kumolo, responded to National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo's plan to recruit 56 Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) employees who did not pass the National Insight Test (TWK), to become National Police ASN.

Tjahjo emphasized that the KemenPAN-RB could not interfere in the internal affairs of the Police. According to him, the withdrawal of 56 KPK employees to the Bhayangkara Corps is under the authority of the National Police Chief.

"That is the authority of the National Police Chief, MenPAN-RB does not take care of that," said Tjahjo on Wednesday, September 29.
Tjahjo explained that the KemenPAN-RB will be involved when it comes to regulations, for example the preparation of a draft Presidential Decree. However, regarding the appointment of positions in the National Police, he said, it is the right and authority of the National Police Chief.

Previously, National Police Chief Gen. Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo planned to recruit 56 employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) who were dismissed due to not passing the national insight test (TWK) to become the state civil apparatus (ASN) of the National Police. Listyo said he had sent a letter to President Jokowi regarding the plan. "We have sent a letter to appeal to 56 people who did TWK who did not pass and were not inducted as KPK ASN so that we could withdraw and recruit them to become Polri ASN," Listyo said at a press conference, Tuesday, September 28. According to him, the National Police need the contribution of the 56 KPK employees to carry out their duties at the Criminal Investigation Department, especially related to handling corruption crimes. Subsequently, the National Police were asked to follow up on the proposal to the BKN and the PAN-RB Ministry. "On 27 we received a written answer from the President through the Minister of State Secretary (Pratikno), in principle he agreed to the 56 KPK employees to become Polri ASNs," he said. Meanwhile, 56 KPK employees who do not pass the TWK will be dismissed on September 30, 2021.
