Chairman Of PP Muhammadiyah Asks Ormas To Give More Than Receive

YOGYAKARTA - Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive (PP) Haedar Nashir asked social organizations (ormas) in the country to appear independent by giving more than receiving.

"The more mass organizations give than receive, the better. This means that these organizations are indeed the embodiment of 'khair al-ummah', the best institution and that is what Islam teaches," Haedar said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, September 28.

Organizations that are more independent, said Haedar, will become a force capable of giving to others and no longer receiving.

Muhammadiyah's interest in the MoU with Bank KB Bukopin and Bank Muamalat Indonesia, he said, is the desire for business charities and business activities run by Muhammadiyah to be of higher quality, stronger, and independent.

Muhammadiyah with Bank KB Bukopin and Bank Muamalat Indonesia, according to him, want to continue to improve the symbiotic relationship of mutualistic and continue to inflame the spirit of "ta'awun" (helping each other).

"With this, hopefully we can advance each other, both Bank KB Bukopin and Bank Muamalat Indonesia as well as us at Muhammadiyah. Because all business charities cannot develop if they do not cooperate with each other," said Haedar.

Cooperating with the two banks, according to him, is done so that Muhammadiyah and Muslims are not only independent but also stronger.

If Muhammadiyah as a mass organization gets stronger, said Haedar, it will be more flexible in carrying out the da'wah "amar ma'ruf nahi munkar".

"We hope that with this strength we can contribute to each other in developing the country. Do not be dependent. Therefore, the existence of business charities and business activities in Muhammadiyah is to become an independent force and provide the widest benefits," he said.
