Police Disband Blitar Chicken Farmer's Action To Distribute Eggs That Trigger Crowds On The Street

BLITAR - Police officers from Blitar, East Java, dispersed the action of chicken farmers who distributed eggs on the streets because they were deemed to have triggered crowds and made traffic jammed.

"Earlier, I took the policy of calling the coordinator of the action due to this condition and we asked for the activity to be disbanded, and thank God it only lasted for a short time (the action)," said Blitar Police Chief AKBP Adhitya Panji Anom, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, September 28.

AKBP Adhitya said this action was carried out by layer chicken breeders (laying chickens) to distribute free eggs. This action sparked the enthusiasm of residents in Blitar Regency, which proved to be a large number of people gathered.

Chicken farmers have applied for a permit to express their aspirations regarding the high price of feed and corn, while the price of chicken eggs is currently below the price set by the government.

"We have called the committee and immediately cooperated. This was beyond the committee's prediction and they immediately disbanded and asked all members to return home," said AKBP Adhitya.

The action was carried out at a number of points. In Blitar City, the distribution of eggs and chickens is carried out at several traffic lights. Meanwhile in Blitar Regency, including in front of the Blitar Regency DPRD Office, Kanigoro Market, and in front of the Blitar Regency Government Office.

Due to the crowd of people who wanted to get free eggs, traffic flow was hampered. Traffic became dense and creeping so members intervened and asked the public not to congregate.

The police chief stepped in to deal with the crowd by asking the residents to disperse. In addition, the patrol cars continued to drive slowly while urging residents to apply health protocols and wear masks because until now the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing.

Meanwhile, a number of residents admitted that they were desperate to come to the action because they were interested in the free egg distribution.

"Earlier, the information was that there was a distribution of free eggs, so come here. But in fact there are a lot of people who come," said Nana, a resident of Blitar.

He also refused to join the crowd in the distribution of the free eggs because he saw many people coming and crowding so he preferred to go home.

The action was followed by farmers from Blitar Raya. In their action, they distributed chicken eggs, live chickens, and an egg bazaar.
