DPR Leader Announces Substitute Azis Syamsuddin This Afternoon

JAKARTA - The leadership of the DPR RI is scheduled to definitively announce the replacement of Azis Syamsuddin in the position of Deputy Speaker of the DPR for Political and Security Coordinator (Korpolkam), Tuesday, September 28, this afternoon.

This was informed through the agenda of the event sent by the Secretariat of the DPR RI leadership on Monday, September 27, evening.

"It was informed that the leadership of the DPR RI will hold a press conference on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. At 12.00 WIB, it will take place in front of the Media Center/Pressroom of the DPR RI, Nusantara III Building. Thank you," reads the notification in circulation. There has been no official statement from the leadership regarding the letter sent by the Golkar Party DPP regarding the name of Azis Syamsuddin's successor.

But previously, a number of Golkar Party functionaries, namely, the Head of the DPP for Law and Human Rights (Bakumham) Supriansa, the Deputy Chairperson (Waketum) of the Golkar Party Firman Soebagyo and Bambang Soesatyo gave a leak that the Secretary General (Secretary General) of the Golkar Party Lodewijk Paulus would occupy the position of Deputy Meanwhile, on Monday, September 27, last night, the Golkar Party held a plenary meeting to decide on a replacement name for Azis Syamsuddin. However, it will only be announced on Tuesday afternoon.

This change is due to Azis Syamsuddin being a suspect and being detained by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Azis is suspected of giving bribes in handling corruption cases in Central Lampung.
