14,938 Workers In Riau Receive Salary Subsidy Of IDR 1 Million Per Person From The Central Government

PEKANBARU - A total of 14,938 workers in 12 regencies and cities in Riau Province have received Salary/Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) of Rp. 1 million per person from the central government.

"Information from BPJS Employment, until September 16, 2021 for Riau Province, 14,938 people have received and transferred BSU under Rp. 3.5 million," said Head of the Riau Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans) Jonli in Pekanbaru, quoted by Antara, Monday, 27 September.

The recipients of BSU from the central government are workers who receive wages below Rp. 3.5 million.

Jonli said that 14,938 workers had received the BSU from the proposal of 89,814 workers, of which each worker received Rp1 million.

"That's data until September 16, 2021, but at this time we don't know what is clear until mid-September 2021 there are 156 people who failed to transfer because of the wrong account number," he said.

In addition, there were 433 people who failed to receive BSU because they had received other social assistance.

Jonli hopes that the 89,814 workers who are proposed to receive BSU can be realized by the government.

"The BSU will be distributed until January 2022, hopefully the proposal for 89,814 BSU recipients in Riau Province will be fulfilled," he said.

In addition to company workers, he said, recipients of BSU under a salary of Rp. 3.5 million are also Freelancers (THL) of the Riau Provincial Government.

"The Riau Provincial Government THL that we registered with BPJS Employment is approximately nine thousand, some have received BSU of Rp. 1 million. For example, THL at the General Bureau and Riau Bappeda have received the government's BSU," he said.
