Child Rape At Vida View Makassar Apartment Arrested

MAKASSAR - The Makassar Polrestabes Jatanras Team revealed cases of rape of minors at the Vida View Apartment. Two perpetrators with the initials WA (23) and FT (17) were arrested in Rappocini, Makassar, South Sulawesi.

"Two perpetrators have been arrested. They are currently being investigated by the team of investigators," said Head of the Jatanras Team for Makassar Police, Iptu Afhi Abrianto, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 22.

The arrest of the two perpetrators of the rape was based on reports from the victim's family. The police conducted an investigation and examined a number of witnesses, including apartment security. Meanwhile, the 12-year-old victim was also questioned and sent for post-mortem.

The victim was raped after being persuaded by her colleague to the Vida View Apartment. There the perpetrator forced the victim to drink alcohol until he was drunk.

"The victim was forced to drink alcohol. In addition to raping the victim, her cellphone was also taken and then sold by the perpetrator," said Iptu Afhi.

The perpetrators are threatened with multi-layered articles, namely Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Child Protection in conjunction with Article 293 of the Criminal Code and Article 362 of the Criminal Code with the threat of 15 years in prison.

Meanwhile, the victim was handled by the local Women and Children Protection Division for assistance during the traumatic recovery period for the incident that happened to him.
