Central Java Provincial Government Builds 28 Earthquake Resistant Houses For Cilacap Sugar Crafts

SEMARANG - The Central Java Provincial Government built 28 simple earthquake-resistant houses for the sugar craft community in Karangsari Village, Adipala District, Cilacap Regency.

"The construction of earthquake-resistant houses is part of the Community Housing Program organized by the Central Java Provincial Government," said Deputy Governor of Central Java Taj Yasin Maimoen in Semarang, quoted by Antara, Monday, September 20.

Gus Yasin, the nickname of the Deputy Governor of Central Java, said that the construction of the house structure was able to withstand earthquakes of up to 9.4 magnitude after being upgraded.

The construction of 28 simple earthquake-resistant houses for the sugar craftsman community was initiated by the Central Java Provincial Government through the Public Housing and Settlement Areas Service assisted by the Central Java National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas).

"Because this will be a complex on its own, we are assisted from Baznas to make the prayer room," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of Central Java's Disperakim, Wiharnanto, said that the housing development uses technology from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) which uses superior home technology with the instant panel system (ruspin).

He emphasized that the assistance provided by the Central Java Provincial Government was only on the side of the building, while the residents sought the land.

"They procured their own land, bought their own land with a fee, then after they got the land they asked us (Central Java Provincial Government, ed) through the district Disperakim, then we helped the house, one person for Rp. 35 million," he said.
