Admit 'I'm Stupid' Comments On Santri Cover Ears, Deddy Corbuzier Apologizes, Don't Know Students Memorize Al-Qur'an

JAKARTA - Deddy Corbuzier apologized for his comments on the video of students covering their ears while undergoing the vaccination process.

In his statement, Deddy admitted that he did not fully understand the context of the video. Especially at that time the students were memorizing the Qur'an.

"First of all I want to apologize profusely because yesterday I was stupid and commented on the problem of students who closed their ears. I couldn't see the situation at the time. I think the students are queuing for the vaccine, then the teacher is prohibited from listening to music,” he said via his Youtube channel on Sunday, September 19.

"I had no knowledge that they had memorized the Qur'an, or had memorized the Qur'an, which I knew at that time were waiting for the vaccine," he continued.

For this incident, Deddy admitted that he felt guilty and promised to deepen his knowledge of religious knowledge.

“The point is I have to learn more. But whatever it is, I'm being stupid, and once again I'm sorry about everything,” he said.

He also explained that as an ordinary human being, we are not free from mistakes and will definitely make mistakes again in the future.

"I'm not perfect either, and I'm bound to make mistakes again. So if you expect me to be perfect all the time, I'm sorry I can't. For all my brothers who are annoyed, offended, and also for the students, because I still have a lot to learn about religion and about humans. But this is okay because I like to learn. So thank you, and I'm sorry for the noise that happened," he explained.

For information, this polemic began when Deddy Corbuzier commented on the video uploaded by Diaz Hendropriyono on September 13 which wrote the caption, 'Poor, since childhood, the wrong education has been given. There's nothing wrong with having a little fun.'

Deddy also commented, 'Maybe they are using airpods. Disturbed.'

In fact, in the video, the students are memorizing the Qur'an as part of their daily routine while waiting for their turn to be vaccinated.
