JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD asked the public to maintain conduciveness after the shooting of the leader of the East Indonesia Mujahideen (MIT), Ali Kalora, on Saturday, September 18.

He said Ali was hit by hot lead to death along with his subordinate Ikrimah after being a fugitive for almost a year. Mahfud made this announcement through his Twitter account @mohmahfudmd.

"The leader of the East Indonesia Mujahideen (MIT) Ali Kalora, who once caused a stir because of the sadistic slaughter of many people in Central Sulawesi, after being on the run for almost a year, today was shot dead by Densus AT/88," Mahfud wrote in his tweet quoted on Sunday, September 19.

As previously reported, the firefight between the Madago Raya task force and the Poso terrorist DPO group occurred again, Saturday, September 18 in the Mountains of Astina Village, Torue District, Parigi Moutong Regency, Central Sulawesi.

From the information received, the shootout killed two Poso terrorists, one of whom was the leader of the Poso terrorist, Ali Ahmad alias Ali Kalora and one of his members, Jaka Ramadhan.

"The DPO is suspected to be Ali Kalora and Jaka Ramadhan, currently on their way to the TKP," said Danrem 132 Tadulako, Brigadier General Farid Makruf.

With the death of Ali Kalora and his subordinate, Ikrimah, there are still four members of the MIT group who are still at large. They are Askar alias Jaid alias Pak Guru, Nae alias Galuh alias Mukhlas, Rukli, and Suhardin alias Hasan Pranata.
