JAKARTA - Alex Noerdin, a suspect in the alleged criminal act of corruption in the purchase of natural gas by the BUMD of the South Sumatra Regional Mining and Energy Company (PDPDE) for the 2010-2019 period was not detained at the Cipinang Class I Rutan, the KPK Detention Center Branch, because it was full. Previously, the Jampidsus Investigator of the Attorney General's Office named two suspects in the alleged corruption of the South Sumatra PDPDE Gas, namely the former Governor of South Sumatra. Alex Noerdin and Muddai Mandang as Director of PT Dika Karya Lintas Nusa (DKLN) and also President Director of PDPDE Gas Sumsel. According to Supardi, on the day of detention his party had brought Alex to the KPK Detention Center, because there was a change because the condition of the detention center was full. What is certain is that the two of them are in different cells, not put together," said Supardi. Alex and Muddai Mandang were detained for 20 days starting September 16. until October 5, 2021. Supardi said that his party immediately planned to examine Alex Noerdin and Muddai Mandang as suspects. "In this case, Alex Noerdin played a role in approving the cooperation between the South Sumatra PDPDE and PT Dika Karya Lintas Nusa (DKLN) to form PDPDE Gas with the intention of using his PDPDE to get the state's share of gas allocation.

Meanwhile, the suspect, Muddai Madang, is suspected for his role in receiving illegal payments in the form of a marketing fee from PT PDPDE Gas. Alex Noerdin and Muddai Madang were charged with Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Eradication Act (PTPK) in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st KUHP subsidiary Article 3 and Article 18 of the PTPK Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st KUHP. Both Alex and Muddai Mandang have also been examined as witnesses related to the alleged misappropriation of the South Sumatra Provincial Government grant funds for the 2015 fiscal year. and 2017 worth Rp130 billion which was earmarked for the construction of the Sriwijaya Grand Mosque. Previously, investigators of the 'Round Building' had named former PDPDE President Director of South Sumatra Caca Isa Saleh S and A Yaniarsyah Hasan as suspects. In this case, Yaniarsyah also serves as Director of DKLN and Director of PT PDPDE Gas. The composition of share ownership in the project is 15 percent for South Sumatra PDPDE and 85 percent for DKLN. From the calculation of the State Audit Board (BPK), the state financial loss in this case amounted to US$ 30,194 million. Meanwhile, other losses of US$63,750 and Rp2.13 billion were paid in capital that should not have been paid by the South Sumatra PDPDE.
