When Gibran Rakabuming Says Jakarta Is A Solo Role Model In Handling COVID-19 In Front Of The Deputy Governor Riza Patria

JAKARTA - Solo Mayor, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, has made DKI Jakarta a reference area in dealing with COVID-19 transmission.

"Some time ago I went to Jakarta, there was the Deputy Governor (Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria), I explained, every time we have a COVID-19 meeting we become a reference, a role model, that's Jakarta", he said after reviewing the vaccination service at the Surakarta Health Polytechnic, reported by Antara, Wednesday, September 15.

He stated that the coverage of vaccination in DKI Jakarta was the highest and the level of examination to detect COVID-19 transmission in the province was also high.

"The BOR is very low, the positivity rate is already very good. We are using it as an example, as motivation so that the City of Solo can follow suit or be better", he said referring to the bed occupancy rate of patients in the hospital (Bed Occupancy Rate / BOR) and the comparison of positive cases COVID-19 with the number of examinations carried out in the DKI Jakarta area.

Gibran mentioned the plasma donor program and capacity building for centralized isolation facilities for COVID-19 patients as part of the efforts to control the transmission of the Coronavirus which was adopted by the Surakarta City Government, also known as Solo City, from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

"In Jakarta, the people are very united to support the government. Yes, we have to apply it in Solo. In addition, in DKI, when there was a delta (coronavirus variant) we immediately made centralized isolation, the capacity of the athlete's house was increased, we worked almost the same way", he said.

The mayor also stated that the implementation of community activity restrictions (PPKM) implemented by the government has proven effective in controlling the transmission of COVID-19.

According to data from the Surakarta City COVID-19 Task Force, there are currently 151 patients domiciled in Solo and 63 patients from outside the city who are undergoing quarantine and or treatment for COVID-19 in the Solo City area.
