Steal Mosque Infaq Box, 2 Youths In Medan Arrested By Police

Perpetrators of theft of mosque infaq boxes in Medan/Police DOK

MEDAN - Two thieves who stole infaq (charity box) at the Jami Sentosa Mosque, Sentosa Lama Street, Medan Perjuangan District, Medan, were arrested by the police. The two thieves who were arrested had the initials MF (20) and RF (16).

The Head of the East Medan Police, Kompol M Arifin, said the two thieves were arrested after their actions of taking away the infaq boxes at the Jami Sentosa Mosque were caught on CCTV cameras and spread on social media.

"The two suspects were arrested while playing an internet cafe on Sentosa Lama Street", said Police Commissioner Arifin accompanied by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the East Medan Police, Iptu Jefri Simamora, Wednesday, September 15.

From the hands of the two perpetrators, Arifin said his party secured the infaq box belonging to the Jami Sentosa Mosque.

"The two perpetrators have been detained and are undergoing intensive investigations", he said.

Meanwhile, the suspect MF admitted to stealing the infaq box at the Jami Sentosa Mosque with his colleague RF.

"I used the money from stealing the donation box to play games at the internet cafe. I just stole at the mosque", he said.
