Angry Megawati Attacked By Hoax Died, PDIP Bali Moves To The Police Station

DENPASAR - The death hoax attack targeting Megawati Soekarnoputri angered the Bali PDI-P. The Bali PDIP DPD management reports the hoax makers to the Bali Police.

"So we came here to report public complaints about the crime of spreading false news against our leaders," said Deputy Internal Secretary of the Bali PDIP DPD, Tjokorda Gede Agung, Tuesday, September 14.

"Essentially the account stated that Mrs. Ketum (Megawati) died. I also have evidence, the words are clear. So, if there are people who want to ask me for evidence, I still keep it in my WA," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy for Ideological Cadreization of the Bali PDIP DPD I Made Suparta said that the Twitter account belonging to @JafarSalman23 was successively spreading the hoax that Megawati died.

"They say they died, they are said to be sick, etc., there are photos too. So after we examined them legally, regarding these accounts, it was clear that they violated the provisions of Article 27 Paragraph 3, Article 28, Paragraph 2, Article 40 of Law No. 19, 2008 concerning the ITE Law," he said.

"There is also Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning ITE. Earlier, there was also Article 390 of the Criminal Code and we also convey that here it violates Articles 14 and 15 of Law, Number 41 of 1946," said Suparta.

The account is considered to have damaged the dignity, dignity and authority of the Chairperson of the PDIP Megawati Soekarnoputri.

"This is very real, it also causes real anxiety for party cadres in all provinces in Indonesia, especially in Bali," he said.

PDIP asked the Bali Police to thoroughly investigate this hoax case. PDIP Bali cadres are said to have been restless with repeated attacks on Megawati through misinformation.

"Then (we ask) to conduct an investigation, carry out investigations, and process further, related to the alleged criminal act of spreading false news or hoaxes, as referred to in the articles and laws that I mentioned earlier," he said.
