Faldo Said, There Is A Reason Why The Poster Carrier Who Acted When Jokowi Came Was 'forced' To Be Arrested

JAKARTA - A farmer and a student were arrested -- police language was secured -- for unfurling posters with different themes during the arrival of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in a number of areas. What is the purpose?

The staff of the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg), Faldo Maldini, emphasized that Jokowi had never been offended or frustrated by student criticism. Any criticism, suggestion or input received will be taken into consideration and thought for by the government.

"This is a democratic country," Faldo told VOI, Tuesday, September 14. However, Faldo did not answer when asked whether the 'secure' order came from Jokowi or not.

Faldo explained that the security forces already have various standards in security. Moreover, this is during a pandemic. Officials certainly already have various calculations to take preventive action.

"The president just came has great potential to cause crowds, let alone added demonstrations," he continued.

Faldo then revealed an interesting fact. He said, every time Jokowi came, his supporters were always ready. Even the palace admitted that it often received information that there was a possibility of clashes between Jokowi's supporters and critics.

"If the supporters of Mr. President Jokowi are also always prepared on the field, every visit, there can be clashes later, the results will definitely be worse. We have received information like this, we must avoid it, this is about the nation, not politics. So, we have to mutually take care," said Faldo, who had not yet answered the question when asked for this explanation.

"We don't want to cause bigger problems. The pandemic is improving, our vaccinations can reach one million a day. We must remain ready and vigilant," he said.
