KKB Leader Lamek Tablo Goes Crazy, Burns Public Facilities In Kiwirok Papua, Residents Immediately Secured By TNI-Polri

PAPUA - An armed criminal group (KKB) led by Lamek Tablo is suspected of burning a number of public facilities in Kiwirok, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua.

Dandim 1715 Yahukimo Lieutenant Colonel Inf Christian Irreuw admitted that the KKB led by Lamek Tablo in addition to arson and exchanged fire with the security forces on duty in Kiwirok.

A soldier from Infantry Battalion 403/WP who is a member of the border security task force was injured as a result of being hit by a rebound or the reflection of a bullet fired in his right arm.

"His condition is stable. Prada Ansar is injured in his right arm, but his condition is stable," Christian said when contacted from Jayapura, Antara, Monday, September 13 afternoon.

In addition to facilities, KKB also burned residents' houses. Residents were temporarily secured at the TNI and Polri posts in Kiwirok.

KKB previously burned heavy equipment belonging to PT. Wijaya Karya (WIKA) is currently building a road from Oksibil to Towe Hitam.

It is suspected that the action taken by the KKB was related to the arrest of two KKB members who were carrying five firearms from PNG, last Wednesday, September 2.

"I have asked all TNI personnel, especially those on duty at the RI-PNG border, to increase their preparedness," said Lt. Col. Inf. Christian Irreuw.

Kiwirok and Batom are some of the districts in the Bintang Mountains bordering PNG.
