About Janssen Vaccine Arriving In Indonesia: 500 Doses And Only Needs One Injection

JAKARTA - A total of 500 thousand doses of Janssen vaccine arrived in Indonesia. This vaccine is a gift from the Dutch government in cooperation with the implementation of the national vaccination program.

The Janssen vaccine is intended for Indonesians aged 18 years. Where, only one injection or a single dose of 0.5 ml intramuscularly is required.

In addition, Janssen's vaccine has also obtained an emergency use authorization (EUA) for the COVID-19 vaccine from the Food and Drug Administration (BPOM) on September 7, 2021.

"This is the third arrival of Dutch cooperation support," said the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno LP Marsudi in her statement, Saturday, September 11.

With this gift, Retno also expressed her appreciation for the support for handling the COVID-19 pandemic provided by the Dutch Government.

"On behalf of the Indonesian government, I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to the Dutch government for their solidarity and friendship," he said.

Meanwhile, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Indonesia Lambert Grijns said that his party would continue to deliver vaccines to Indonesia in stages with a total of approximately three million doses.

The Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, he added, is very pleased to be able to support Indonesia in its efforts to vaccinate as many and as quickly as possible its citizens.

"There will be more vaccine deliveries in the coming weeks bringing the total donated vaccine to at least three million doses," said Lambert Grijns.

In addition to vaccines, the Netherlands also sent support for handling the pandemic in the form of personal protective equipment (PPE). Grinjs said the ship carrying the aid had departed from the Port of Rotterdam last week and will arrive in Jakarta in the next few weeks.

“I hope that the donations we give will help the people of Indonesia. Indonesia has a significant place in our day,” said Lambert Grijns.
