Women In Banyuwangi Dispose Of Baby Fetus To Well After Giving Birth At Clinic

BANYUWANGI - An underage woman in Banyuwangi, East Java, is reported to have dumped her newborn baby into a well.

The incident occurred at a clinic in Dadapan Village, Kabat District, Banyuwangi Regency, East Java, Friday, September 10.

At first this underage girl came to the clinic complaining of a headache and stomach ache. But it turned out to give birth to a fetus which later died.

Moments later, this woman went into the bathroom to throw something out.

However, from CCTV camera footage, the perpetrator left the bathroom and headed for the well behind the clinic. The fetus was then thrown into the well.

"The fetus was thrown into a well behind the clinic. After that it disappeared from the clinic," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Denpasar Police, AKP Mustijat Priyambodo, confirmed by reporters.

The clinic then reported it to the police. After that the officers evacuated the fetus from the well. Two hours later, the waster of the fetus was secured not far from the clinic.

Currently, it is still being investigated to explore the motive for the disposal of the fetus. Meanwhile, the body of the fetus was taken to Blambangan Hospital for post-mortem.
