Coordinating Minister Luhut Ensures That The Opening Of Bali Tourism For Foreign Tourists Is Still Prepared, But The Schedule Is Uncertain

BADUNG - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said preparations for opening Bali tourism for foreign tourists were still being prepared.

"We are preparing it, we had a meeting in Jakarta yesterday, it has been submitted to the Governor, we have prepared everything," said Luhut after monitoring waste management in Badung Regency, Bali, Friday, September 10.

There are several schemes prepared, namely foreign tourists from countries that are ready to cooperate with Indonesia through the travel bubble system.

"When will it be opened? It will also depend on which country. Not all countries too, and when we are ready. I think we may be at level 2," he added.

Foreign tourists who will enter must also obey the procedure. This is to ensure the health conditions of foreign tourists to Bali in the midst of a pandemic.

"We don't want backpackers who come so that Bali is clean, quality people come," he said.

International class health facilities are also prepared. That way, foreign tourists can access health facilities with international standards.

"We talked about opening international tourism in Bali in the near future. So, people coming to Bali are comfortable, all of them have the necessary health services," he said.

However, his party also asked the Balinese people to be patient for the certainty of the schedule for the opening of international tourism. The public is also reminded to adhere to health protocols.

"But we are still waiting. Because right now we are one of the best countries in handling COVID-19. According to the data, we must not be complacent, we must not be arrogant. We must remain careful," he said.

"In Bali it's good (corona cases) but if later it rises again, no one else wants to come to Bali. So later Bali is known as an undisciplined island, that's not good," Luhut continued.
