JAKARTA - Internal officers of the DKI Jakarta Ministry of Law and Human Rights conducted a surprise inspection (sidak) of electrical installations at the Class IIA Jakarta Narcotics Prison, Cipinang, East Jakarta.

Head of the Class IIA Jakarta Narcotics Prison, Bambang Wijanarko, said that the results of the crackdown on electricity installations found that there were cables that were not supposed to be outside the PLN network.

In addition, there is also an assembled stove made from used elements of a rice cooker.

"In accordance with the direction of the Head of the Regional Office of the Kemenkumham DKI Jakarta, this activity aims to regulate electrical installations in residential blocks and rooms in order to prevent disturbances in security and order and electrical short circuits at the Jakarta Narcotics Prison," he told VOI reporters, Thursday 9 September.

According to Bambang, the Narcotics Prison routinely or incidentally conducts room inspections.

"So there are not too many unnecessary cables. However, we are still concerned about cleaning," he said.

In the midst of carrying out the inspection, continued Bambang, his party also gave an appeal to the inmates (prisoners/prisoners) not to make electricity connections illegally in residential blocks or rooms which could result in a short circuit.

As is known, an electrical short was the cause of the fire in the Class 1 Tangerang prison.

"We also emphasize not locking the door from inside the room in any way. Because if things happen that we don't want, it is difficult for us to evacuate," he said.

The Head of the Section for Guidance for Prisoners and Educators (Kasi Binadik) Jumadi added, in addition to controlling electrical installations, his party also checked the availability of Light Fire Extinguishers (APAR). As a result, the APAR is in poor condition.

"The result of our control is that the cable channel is chaotic and prone to short circuits," he said.
