Give Rp30 Million To The Families Of The Tangerang Prison Fire Victims, Minister Yasonna: Don't Look Big Or Small

JAKARTA - Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly handed over death compensation to the families of fire victims in Tangerang Prison. The amount of Rp. 30 million was first represented to the families of the three prisoners who died.

They are the families of victims of the inmates on behalf of Adam Maulana (accepted by Dadang/brother), Thimoty Jaya (received by Endru Jonathan/brother), and Hadiyanto (received by Dasri/wife).

"This compensation should not be seen from big or small, but as a form of empathy and our deep condolences for this disaster that we both don't want. Compensation will be given to all the families of the victims who died in this disaster," said Yasonna at the Tangerang District Hospital. in his official statement, Thursday 9 September.

"The Ministry of Law and Human Rights is also responsible for the relocation of the bodies to the burial process once the identification of the victims has been completed. We will also bear all the costs for the burial until the funeral procession," Yasonna continued.

Yasonna came here to visit the inmates who were injured in the Tangerang Class I prison fire. This PDI-P politician wants to ensure that the inmates receive the maximum possible medical care.

"I hope that our inmates who were injured as a result of the fire at the Class I prison in Tangerang yesterday were handled as well as possible and hope that they can recover as usual," Yasonna said in a statement to reporters.

"I ensure that the Ministry of Law and Human Rights through the hands of the doctors and nurses at the Tangerang District Hospital is responsible for providing the best possible treatment," he said.

Yasonna hopes that the families of the injured will let the doctors and nurses carry out their respective duties. This was conveyed by Yasonna after hearing that a number of victims' families were prohibited from visiting the hospital.

"I understand the anxiety felt by the families of the injured victims. However, I invite the families of our inmates to believe and let the doctors and nurses carry out their duties as best they can," said Yasonna.

"The burns experienced by our inmates certainly require intensive treatment. We recommend that we pray together so that all the treatment processes run smoothly and the family can immediately visit when it is permitted," said the Professor of Criminology at the Police Science College. .

The number of inmates who died to 44

The number of inmates who died as a result of the fire incident at the Class I Tangerang Correctional Institution (Lapas) has increased again. Noted, there are 3 inmates who died after the incident.

"Initial information is there are two but there is an additional one, so there are three inmates who died," said Head of Public Relations and Protocol of the Directorate General of Corrections Rika Apriyanti to VOI, Thursday, September 9.

Based on the data, the three inmates are narcotics convicts. They were previously among the victims who had suffered serious injuries. They died after undergoing intensive care.

"The three of them are narcotics convicts," said Rika.

With this additional death toll, a total of 44 inmates died as a result of the deadly fire.
