3. Ohio Prison. Occurred on April 21, 1930. In that incident 322 died at the Ohio Penitentiary in Columbus, Ohio. Most died from smoke inhalation when a breakdown in command prevented guards from unlocking the cell doors. Worst prison fire in US history.

4. Higuey Prison, Dominican Republic. Occurred on March 7, 2005. In that incident 136 male inmates were killed in Higuey, Dominican Republic, after a fight broke out in a prison where inmates burned beds. Prisoners are accused of breaking cell locks and killing others as well as trying to escape.

5. Saudi Arabian Prisons. Happened on September 15, 2003. In that incident 67 inmates died in the worst prison fire in Saudi Arabia's history. The incident took place in the maximum security al-Hair Prison near Riyadh.
