Wait For The Central Government, The Cianjur-Bogor Regency Government To Postpone The Continuation Of The Peak Line II Project

CIANJUR - The construction of the Puncak II route in Batulawang Village, Cipanas District, Cianjur, West Java, has been delayed because the Cianjur and Bogor Regency Governments are still waiting for news from the central government.

"The Cianjur Regency Government and the West Java Provincial Government are still waiting for news from the central government, so the process of constructing the Puncak II route has been abandoned, resulting in long traffic jams on the main Puncak route," said Cianjur Regent, Herman Suherman, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 8.

Herman has not been able to confirm the continuation of the continued development of the Puncak II route, considering that some of the main routes will be carried out through the direction of the relevant ministry.

Herman admitted that the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic has caused many budget ceilings to be diverted for handling the pandemic. However, the Cianjur Regency Government has budgeted IDR 6 billion for the construction of the existing Puncak II route, starting from Ciseureuh to Arca along 12 kilometers.

"Our hope is that it will soon be built to anticipate congestion on the Puncak route because after the easing of PPKM level 2, the queue of vehicles will be visible again and the solution is on the Puncak II route," he said.

Meanwhile, West Java Deputy Governor Uu Ruzhanul Ulum said the construction of the Puncak II route was the only solution to overcome congestion on the Puncak Line. This work is expected to reduce the burden on the Puncak main line, which is always jammed every weekend.

"We hope that the central government can immediately realize the construction of the Puncak II route, as a solution to severe traffic jams every weekend and long holidays on the Puncak route. We will push for it to be realized soon," he said.
