Alex Noerdin Will Be Present At The Corruption Session For The Construction Of The Palembang Sriwijaya Mosque

SOUTH SUMATERA - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the South Sumatra High Court (Sumsel) has scheduled a summons for the former Governor of South Sumatra Alex Noerdin.

Alex will be examined as a witness in the alleged corruption case in the construction of the Palembang Sriwijaya Mosque. This Golkar Party politician is known to have served as General Chairperson of the Sriwijaya Mosque Foundation.

Together with Alex, the prosecutor also scheduled an examination of Muddai Madang as the General Treasurer of the Sriwijaya Mosque Foundation. Mudai will be examined next week. Meanwhile, Alex Noerdin was called up in two weeks.

"Currently, we have not been summoned, we have an agenda for the next two weeks," said Head of the Special Criminal Prosecution Section of the South Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office, M Naimullah, in Palembang, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, September 7.

According to him, the two high-ranking officials in South Sumatra were summoned as witnesses to complete the dossier for proof of corruption (tipikor) in grant funds for the construction of the Sriwijaya Grand Mosque against four defendants Edi Hermanto, Syarifudin, Yudi Arminto, and Dwi Krisdayani, at the Palembang District Court, South Sumatra.

"They will be summoned as witnesses," he said. As for the alleged corruption case in the construction of the largest prototype mosque in Asia, it took place at the Palembang District Court, at least 16 witnesses were presented by the public prosecutor.

The witnesses were Richard Cahyadi (former Kaban Kesbangpol South Sumatra), Agustinus Toni (Sumsel BPKAD staff), Suwandi (Sumsel Provincial Secretariat document verification team), Rita Aryani, Joko Imam (former Assistant IV Administration and General Secretary of the South Sumatra Provincial Secretariat), MA Gantada (former Chairman of the South Sumatra DPRD).

Then, Akhmad Najib (Assistant III for People's Welfare of the South Sumatra Regional Secretariat), Mukti Sulaiman (suspect), Ahmad Nasuhi (suspect), Laoma L Tobing (Head of the South Sumatra BPKAD), Toni Aguswara (Member of the Division of Law and Land Administration for the Sriwijaya Mosque).

They testified in the trial that took place on Tuesday.

Then, Ardani (Head of the Legal Division of the Sriwijaya Mosque Waqf Foundation as well as the Head of the Legal Bureau of the South Sumatra Provincial Secretariat), Angga Ariansyah (Head of the South Sumatra Provincial Government Assets), and Syahrullah (Vice Chair of the Law and Land Division of the Sriwijaya Mosque Waqf Foundation), Lumassia (Secretary of the Mosque Waqf Foundation). Sriwijaya), and Zainal Effendi Berlian (Chairman of the Sriwijaya Mosque Waqf Foundation since 2020), Akmad Najib (Assistant III for Welfare at the South Sumatra Regional Secretariat), Muddai Madang (former General Treasurer of the Sriwijaya Mosque Waqf Foundation). They have testified in the trial which took place last Tuesday, August 24.

Meanwhile, Alex Noerdin, the former Governor of South Sumatra, who is now a member of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) has been questioned at the inaugural trial at the Attorney General's Office, Jakarta, Thursday, July 29, and Muddai Madang, Deputy General Chair of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) is undergoing examination as a witness at the High Court. South Sumatra on Monday, February 8th.

The witness was summoned to thoroughly investigate the case that caused state losses of Rp130 billion.

Meanwhile, the four defendants are said to have violated Article 2 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code and subsidiary Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law no. 20/2001 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.
