Palak Fruit Trader, 2 Thugs In Medan Who Challenged 'Please Share Video' Arrested By Police

MEDAN - Police arrested 2 men named Fikri (43) and Roni (47) for harassing fruit traders in Medan. The actions of both of them were recorded by traders and spread on social media.

In the video, initially the two men approached the merchant on a motorbike. Then, they then asked the merchant for money.

"What? There is no 'drink money', our sales are quiet. We also drink water, bro. Like what, we want to give money to drink," said the slapped trader.

Realizing, he was videoed by the two and then called himself a thug. After that they ran away.

"Peace, good camera. We are thugs, please share," said one of the thugs, then left the merchant.

After being traced, it turns out that the incident occurred on Jalan Gatot Subroto, Simpang Tanjung Village, Medan Sunggal District, Medan City. The police then investigated the case and managed to arrest both of them.

The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sunggal Police, AKP Budiman, said the burglary took place on Saturday, September 4.

"The two perpetrators named Fikri (43) residents of Jalan Sei Mencharim, Sukamaju Village and RMP alias Roni (47) residents of Jalan Elang, Sei Sikambing B Village," said AKP Budiman in a statement, Monday, September 7.

According to Budiman, information on a viral video was received by the Sector Police who chased the two perpetrators and managed to arrest them, in the Sunggal sub-district, Sunday, September 5 evening.

"When we showed them the viral video, the two of them couldn't help but admit their actions," he said.

Because of his actions, both of them are now being built. The perpetrators admit that they are sorry for their actions.

"(They) also promised not to repeat their actions, which violated the law," he said.

However, said Budiman, even though the perpetrators have been arrested, the trafficked traders have not made a report. He appealed to the victim to immediately file a report, so that it can be processed by law.

"Until now the victim has not made a complaint to the Sunggal Police, so we appeal to the community, not to hesitate or hesitate, to report all forms of criminal acts they have experienced," he said.
