COVID-19 Update As Of September 7: New Cases 7,201, Healed Increases 14,159

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 251,639 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 7,201 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,140,634 people and active cases are 251,639," according to data from the Ministry of Health, Tuesday, September 7.

Today's recovered cases increased by 14,159 cases, bringing the total to 3,864,848 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 683 people and a total of 137,156 people.

The province with the most new cases was in Central Java with 964 cases and a total of 474,991 cases. Followed by West Java which has 778 new cases with a total of 695,897 cases. East Java has 675 new cases and a total of 388,096 cases. Then, North Sumatra has 448 new cases and a total of 99,854 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an increase of 2,849 recovered cases. Followed by North Sumatra with an additional 1,717 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 1,084 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 995 recovered cases.

No province has reported no new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 33,620,034.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 6.97 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 127,456 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently there are 68,208,588 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 39,165,980 of the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination for health workers was 726,589. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
