Two Subordinates Of Former Maritime Minister Edhy Prabowo Executed In Sukamiskin Prison

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) executed two subordinates of former Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Edhy Prabowo, Amiril Mukminin and Safri to the Sukamiskin Class I Correctional Institution, Bandung, West Java. Both are convicts of bribery cases of exporting lobster seeds or fry.

The execution of Amiril Mukminin was carried out to implement the Jakarta Corruption Court's decision number: 28/Pid.sus-TPK/2021/PN Jkt. Pst July 15, 2021.

"To serve a prison sentence of 4 years and 6 months reduced while in detention," Acting KPK Spokesperson for the Enforcement Midwife Ali Fikri told reporters, Tuesday, September 7.

In addition to corporal punishment, Amiril is also required to pay a fine of Rp. 300 million. If the fine is not paid, it will be replaced with imprisonment for 6 months.

Next, Edhy's former personal secretary is also required to pay a replacement fee of around Rp2.25 billion, taking into account the money that has been returned. If the replacement money is not paid a month after the court's decision has permanent legal force, the property will be confiscated by the Prosecutor.

"The property will be auctioned to cover the replacement money and if you can't afford it, you will be imprisoned for 1 year," he said.

The execution to Sukamiskin Prison in Bandung, West Java was also carried out on Edhy's special staff, Safri. This activity refers to the decision of the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court Number: 27/Pid.Sus-TPK/2021/PN.Jkt.Pst dated July 15, 2021.

"Safri will serve a prison sentence of 4 years and 6 months reduced while in detention," Ali explained.

He was also charged with paying a fine of Rp. 300 million. If the fine is not paid, it will be replaced with imprisonment for 6 months.

In this case, Edhy Prabowo was declared to have accepted bribes along with his staff, namely Andreau Misanta Pribadi, Safri, and Amiril Mukminin; his wife's personal secretary, Ainul Faqih; owner of PT Aero Cipta Kargo Siswadhi.

They were proven to have accepted bribes from the Director of PT Duta Putra Perkasa Pratama, Suharjito and another lobster seed exporting company.

As for the details of the money received in this case, Edhy Prabowo received a total of US$77 thousand from Suharjito and received Rp24,625,587,250 from other businessmen. Next, Safri received 26 thousand US dollars, Siswadhi received a bribe of Rp13,199,689,193, Andreau Misanta Pribadi pocketed a bribe of Rp10,731,932,722 and Amiril Mukminin received Rp2,369,090,000.
