No More Than 1x24 Hours Police Reveal Woman's Death In Cilandak Area Hotel Room

JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Metro Police have arrested a man who is a suspect in the case of finding a woman's body at the Picaso Inn Hotel in the Cilandak area of South Jakarta. The disclosure of this case in no more than 1x24 hours proves the performance of the police in uncovering murders in their jurisdiction. What is the story of this case, here's a review.

An unidentified female body was found naked in the bathroom of the Picasso Inn hotel, Jalan Abdul Majid Raya, Cilandak District, South Jakarta. The woman, who was initially found without an identity, was found dead after hotel employees, on Saturday 4 September, checked the night of a room that should have been checked out.

After the room door was successfully opened, the hotel room attendant saw the body of a naked woman who was dead. The hotel then reported it to the South Jakarta Metro Police.

The death of the victim also had a puzzle for the police. The victim was found dead with bruises on his body. Police strongly suspect that the victim was murdered.

The investigation began when the police identified the victim's body. Police officers from the South Jakarta Metro Police have also conducted a crime scene (TKP) and collected a number of evidences, and CCTV footage at the hotel.

The victim's body was then sent to Fatmawati Hospital for an autopsy. Based on the results of the investigation at the crime scene, the police began to form a special team.

South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Azis Andriansyah said the special team consisted of an analysis team of findings at the crime scene (TKP), a team for examining witnesses, and a field team to gather information.

Based on CCTV footage evidence, the facial features of the perpetrators are visible. The police also confiscated CCTV footage of the perpetrator's motorbike which was caught on camera.

Based on the CCTV camera footage, the joint team began tracking the whereabouts of the perpetrators through the police number plate (nopol) of his vehicle. From the results of the tracking, it is known that the perpetrator lives in the Bojong Gede area, Bogor.

"The perpetrator was arrested in Bojong Gede, West Java on Sunday 5 September at around 01.00 WIB in the morning. When arrested, the perpetrator surrendered without a fight," said the Police Chief to reporters, Sunday 5 September, yesterday.

Later, the identity of the perpetrator began to be revealed. The perpetrator is known to have the initials AA (41). Until now, the perpetrators are still undergoing examination at the South Jakarta Metro Police Headquarters. Police are still investigating the murder case.

"The victim's cellphone is in the hands of the person who made the arrest (the perpetrator)," said the Police Chief.

As of Sunday, September 5 afternoon, the investigator is still being interrogated by the team of investigators. Meanwhile, from the results of the crime scene (TKP) and autopsy of the body, the identity of the woman Mrs. X's body was known to have the initials LD, 21 years old.

"From the results of the post-mortem, it was found signs of violent bruising on the shoulders and neck. The victim was found naked," said the Police Chief.

Meanwhile, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cilandak Police, Iptu Budi, said that the process of arresting the perpetrator of the murder with the initials AA (41) carried out by his staff through tracking the number plate of the perpetrator's vehicle.

In addition to tracking number plates, the police also brought other evidence to arrest the perpetrators of AA in the Bojong Gede area, Bogor.

"We traced it from the license plate of the motorbike (the perpetrator) that was parked outside (the hotel)," said Iptu Budi when contacted by reporters, Sunday, September 5, evening.

He explained that the tracking of the perpetrator's vehicle number plate was based on evidence from CCTV camera footage around the scene. Before tracking down the number plate, the police first collected a number of CCTV footage.

"After checking the address of the motorcycle plate, it was found that it was in the Bojong Gede area. We are pursuing and making arrests according to the available evidence," he said.

Slowly, the bright spot of the alleged murder case began to emerge. The police also get a common thread from this alleged murder case.

From the results of an in-depth investigation, the perpetrator AA (41) apparently met the victim LD (21) through an open booking (BO) sexual chat application.

"Yes, yes. It's true (open BO). CCTV is right when he enters and leaves the room," said Kanit.

Kanit further said that from the preliminary results of the interrogation of the perpetrator, it was known that the perpetrator and the victim had never met before. However, he refused to explain how the communication between the alleged perpetrator and the victim occurred.

"Nope. No (I've met before). Completely waiting for tomorrow's release (today) to be delivered," he said.

Kanit also confirmed that the relationship between the alleged perpetrator and the victim was a relationship between a customer and a provider of commercial sex services.

"It's true," Kanit told reporters.

Returning to the Chief of Police, Kombes Pol Azis Andriansyah, he explained that the motive for the murder carried out by HA alias AA (41) at the Picasso In Hotel, Cilandak, South Jakarta was to be offended and then angry. The perpetrator, said Azis, was annoyed and angry after the victim, LD (21) called him smelly and dirty.

"The motive for the perpetrator to commit the crime was to feel offended and emotional because it was said that his body was smelly and dirty," the police chief told reporters on Monday, September 6.

It was also explained that the victim and perpetrator communicated through the MiChat application before finally deciding to meet at the hotel.

"They do not have a relationship with each other, but communicate via MiChat, where they made an appointment and met for the first time that night," Azis told reporters on Monday, September 6.

From the results of the examination at the crime scene and the reconstruction, the perpetrator explained that he also confiscated the victim's valuables.

"When he was arrested, other evidence was obtained in the form of the victim's belongings, namely cellphones, ATMs and other items that were in the hands of the perpetrators. It is strongly suspected that the person concerned is the perpetrator. In addition, CCTV was found at the place which identified the person," he said.

As a result of his actions, the suspect was charged with multiple articles. Namely, Article 338 of the Criminal Code related to murder and Article 365 of the Criminal Code related to theft with violence that causes the loss of another person's life.

"The suspect faces 15 years in prison," he said.
