PPKM Extended, Dine In Duration In Malls Becomes 1 Hour, Tourist Attractions At Level 3 Open

JAKARTA - The government has officially extended the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) in Java-Bali from 7 September to 13 September 2021.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menkomarves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that there were rules for a number of activities that were relaxed. Dine-in time in malls has been relaxed to 1 hour.

"Adjustment of eating or dine-in time in malls to 60 minutes with 50 percent capacity," said Luhut in a virtual press conference, Monday, September 6.

Then, the government will also conduct a trial opening of 20 tourist attractions in cities that apply PPKM Level 3 for the next week.

"There will be a trial opening of 20 tourist attractions in the city with Level 3 with the implementation of strict health protocols and the implementation of the PeduliLindung platform," said Luhut.

Then, regencies/cities with level 2 will also be required to use PeduliLindungi on tourist attractions that are already allowed to open.

In addition, the government will test the Health and Care Protect protocol for malls and shopping centers in Bali with certain limitations.

In the extension of the Java-Bali PPKM, Luhut said a number of regions experienced a decline in the PPKM assessment level.

"The situation for the development of COVID-19 in Java-Bali continues to experience significant improvements. This is marked by the number of cities/districts at level 4," he said.

Luhut explained that currently the Java-Bali regencies/cities that are at Level 4 are 11 regions with previously 254 regencies/cities. A significant increase occurred at level 2 where the number increased from the previous 27 districts/cities to 43 districts/cities.

Then, DI Yogyakarta experienced a decrease in the level of assessment from level 4 to level 3. However, Bali Province was still included in level 4.

"Bali needs one more week from four to three because maintenance is still high. I've told the governor to deal with this a lot," said Luhut.
