Warning For Banda Aceh, 12 People Detected Positive For COVID-19 Delta Variant

ACEH - A total of 12 residents of Banda Aceh City were detected positively exposed to the delta variant of COVID-19 based on the results of examinations and reports from the Indonesian Ministry of Health's Balitbangkes.

"We have been informed that in Banda Aceh there have been 12 people detected (delta variant)," said Head of the Banda Aceh Health Service Lukman in Banda Aceh, as reported by Antara, Monday, September 6.

Lukman said that his party had not received detailed data on any Banda Aceh residents who were confirmed positive for the delta variant, this was because the center only stated the number.

"We were only told there were 12 people. But we don't know where their homes are, what sub-district and who the people are, because the inspection samples were sent directly to the center," he said. According to data from the Aceh COVID-19 Task Force, the cumulative number of confirmed positive cases in Banda Aceh City to date has reached 10,949 people, including 2,151 patients being treated, 8,543 people recovered and 255 dead.

Meanwhile, based on information provided by the spokesperson for the Aceh COVID-19 Task Force, Saifullah Abdul Gani, so far there have been 18 cases of the delta variant in Aceh. The number is known from the Balitbang infographic of the Indonesian Ministry of Health.

However, Saifullah said, his party had not yet received data on the distribution of the delta variant of the corona virus in Aceh, which was spread in any district/city.

"Although the distribution data is not yet available, this development needs to be immediately known by the public as a mitigation effort to increase awareness," said Saifullah.
