COVID-19 Update As Of September 5: New Cases 5,403, Accumulated 4,129,020 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 171,885 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 5,403 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,129,020 people and active cases are 171,885," according to data from the Ministry of Health, Sunday, September 5.

Today's recovered cases increased by 10,191 cases, bringing the total to 3,837,640 people recovered. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 392 people and a total of 134,861 people.

The province with the most new cases was in Central Java with 625 cases and a total of 473,276 cases. Followed by East Java which has 448 new cases with a total of 387,060 cases. North Sumatra has 393 new cases and a total of 99,215 cases. Then, West Java had 355 new cases and a total of 694,714 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to Central Java with an additional 1,042 recovered cases. Followed by DI Yogyakarta with an increase of 981 recovered cases, East Java with an increase of 879 recovered cases, and West Java with an additional 804 recovered cases.

No province has reported no new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 33,215,453.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 8.31 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 264,081 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently there are 66,782,673 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 38,223,153 the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination for health workers was 713,060. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
