Ridwan Kamil Says, 60 Percent Of West Java's Population Get Psychological Pressure Due To COVID-19

BANDUNG – Facing a prolonged pandemic, 60 percent of West Java (West Java) residents are experiencing psychological pressure, anxiety, and worry because of COVID-19. This was conveyed by the Governor of West Java M Ridwan Kamil alias Kang Emil after a Talkshow and Mental Illness Psychology Consultation in Bandung City.

On that occasion, Kang Emil also explained that there were 5,000 orphans and orphans whose parents had died due to COVID-19.

"We have statistics that 60 percent of residents are anxious and worried during this pandemic. Then there are 5,000 orphans and orphans whose parents left because of COVID-19. That must also be our concern," explained Ridwan Kamil, quoting Antara Saturday, September 4th.

With the free mental health counseling initiated by the Point Koma Movement through the Semicolon Project, Kang Emil sees this step as part of an effort to restore people's enthusiasm in their daily activities. Moreover, mental health counseling is provided free of charge.

"I welcome this Semicolon Movement initiative to reach out to those who may be harboring stress, confusion, and anxiety, through various media," said Kang Emil.

Responding to this mental health phenomenon, the West Java Provincial Government will collaborate with the Koma Point Movement to reduce the level of depression in the community.

The West Java Provincial Government also previously had a "Beloved" mobile counseling program, counseling at mental hospitals and hotlines, as well as mental health villages.

"We will collaborate. This is what we hope so that it can reduce the level of depression," said Kang Emil.

Mental health is not only experienced by certain circles. "From children to leaders, like me, too, have problems that sometimes don't arise because of the situation," he said.*
